#9

The market was closer than I thought. It took about 5 minutes to get there by the Special bus, and I don´t mean the little yellow one. I mean the bus that only runs on Sundays to the market. The scene reminded me of downtown near Roosevelt where everyone is trying to bargain with you over something. People were yelling with the microphones. Sometimes I see things I like, other times I don´t. I did see some zodiac wristbands while walking around, but I didn´t get a chance to go back and get them. I forgot the isle they were on. Silly me. We sat down for a little snack and boy did that hit the spot. We caught the bus back around 1:20 or so and made it back to the Plaza España.

It was such a nice day. The wind wasn´t to bad, but it was enough to stay cool. Elida and I decided to sit in the park and we talked for about 90 minutes and didn´t realize it. There were a few creepy ones watching us, but we still laughed and kept right on talking. My mom kinda scolded me for being late for lunch. Oh well, it happens. She just fixed the table and then we talked. It is so good to have a host mom that I can interact with. Even though, we don´t completely understand each other all the time. It is a learning experience, in itself, trying to find other ways to get the messages across. She draws mini pictures, and we both laugh. I think she is or used to paint alot. There are a few paintings on the walls in the house with her name on it. She appears to be inspired by African art and music. There are alot of African figurines throughout the house also. Well, I don´t want her mad at me so I´m off to dinner. Chao!
